About
Owen Grant Innes is a self-taught painter whose use of bold colours is inspired by the folk art traditions of his native Nova Scotia. Integral to his process is evolving his style as he moves from one series of work to another, often needing time away between series to shape a new direction. His subject matter varies but his regard is consistent. He looks for inspiration in his own life experiences and juxtaposes these against different cultural contexts. He works on canvas and paper, in acrylics, mixed media, collage and digitally.
He lives between London and Rochessauve, France. Born August 12th, 1962, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
